Texas guard Madison Booker has historically struggled against South Carolina this year, but she's off to a better start in the Longhorns' Final Four matchup against the Gamecocks in Tampa, Florida.
Booker led Texas to a 12-4 start against South Carolina, accounting for half of those points shooting 3-of-3 from the field, in addition to one steal. Booker, however, had to head to the bench early after picking up two fouls in the first quarter and another in the second, marking the first time in Booker's career that she's picked up three fouls in the first half. Booker, who averages 31.3 minutes per game, had to sit for eight minutes in the first two quarters.
The Final Four matchup between No. 1 South Carolina and No. 1 Texas marks the SEC foes’ fourth matchup of the season. South Carolina has a 2-1 advantage over Texas in the regular-season series and has been able to successfully disrupt Booker. Booker shot an average of 25.9% from the field against South Carolina (14-of-54) in the first three matchups.
