April 10
Baseball
Redwood 4, El Diamante 0: Winning pitcher Wyatt McElree fired a complete-game shutout with four strikeouts.
The Rangers (10-5, 7-1), who are currently atop the East Yosemite League standings, were led at the plate by Vincent Barba (single, double, run, two RBIs), McElree (two singles, run, RBI), C.J. Ramos (single, RBI), Jax Griffiths (single, run, stolen base) and Cash Rico (run, walk).
Redwood 5, El Diamante 2: Jack Volchko earned the win on the hill in this 13-inning game. He had a strikeout in three frames.
Also for Redwood, Nate Ramirez hurled four strikeouts in six innings, and Truett Pettyjohn had a strikeout in two stanzas. Aidan Trevino tossed a pair of scoreless frames.
CJ Ramos and Isaac Esquivel each had two RBIs. Trevino went 2-for-4 hitting with a double and a run and Carson Garcia added a single, two runs and a pair of walks. Cash Rico had an RBI.
Softball
Redwood 16, Golden West 0: The Rangers (10-4-1, 3-0) defeated the Trailblazers in five innings via the 10-run mercy rule.
Redwood exploded for 13 hits and 15 RBIs. Kenzie Cantu finished with a home run and four RBIs. Ceydie Pires, Jaden Lopez, Gaby Vasquez and Alexis Rico each drove in a pair of runs. Rico also scored three runs.
Reagan King recorded the victory as the team's starting pitcher, throwing four strikeouts in a shutout.
Golden West's Tristan Perez led the team with two hits.
April 9
Baseball
Central Valley Christian 4, Kingsburg 2: Jared Griffith registered the win on the mound, throwing three strikeouts in five scoreless innings. He allowed just one hit.
Zach Simmon added three strikeouts in two frames.
The Cavaliers were led offensively by Jentzen Dunn (single, triple, two RBIs, run), Joey Pedro (two singles, RBI), Caden Ritchie (single, RBI, run, stolen base) and Macade Atkins (double, two runs, walk).
Softball
Tulare Union 6, Hanford 2: Jazlene Salazar and Kayloni Cox each drove in two runs in the West Yosemite League victory.
KaiLee Gilbert launched a solo home run and Taylor Lewis had two hits. Aliyah Cardinas had an RBI. Jiannah Freitas went the distance in the circle, hurling two strikeouts.
April 8
Softball
Redwood 3, Monache 0: Winning pitcher Jackie Ramirez allowed just two hits in a complete-game outing. She had four strikeouts in a shutout performance.
Jaden Lopez led Redwood with three hits, including a double. Kiera Ramirez, Gaby Vasquez and Aubrie Jenkins each had a single. Jackie and Kiera Ramirez each had an RBI. Vasquez, Sara Marmolejo and Kenzie Cantu all scored a run.
For Monache, Jadin Sabol and Avery Smith both had a hit.
