Tennessee is scheduled to end spring football practices on Saturday with its annual Orange & White Game at Neyland Stadium.
On Thursday, On3 reported Tennessee and quarterback Nico Iamaleava are in active contract negotiations ahead of the 2025 season.
Ahead of the Orange & White Game, Pete Thamel of ESPN announced Iamaleava was not at Tennessee's final practice on Friday.
"Nico Iamaleava did not attend Tennessee spring practice today," Thamel said. "He’s been in conversations with Tennessee about a new contract. The no-show of practice came as a surprise."
Iamaleava has appeared in 18 games for the Vols from 2023-24.
He has completed 241-of-379 passing attempts for 2,930 yards, 21 touchdowns and five interceptions, while recording 435 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 129 rushing attempts.

Kickoff for Saturday's Orange & White Game is scheduled for 2 p.m. EDT. The contest will not be televised. Vol Walk will take place at 11:50 a.m. EDT on the corner of Peyton Manning Pass and Phillip Fulmer Way.
