Lady Jackets drop in standings after 9-1 loss to Joshua

The Cleburne Lady Jackets fall back down to sixth in the District 8-5A standings after a 9-1 loss to Joshua Tuesday night.

Now sitting at 7-14-2 and 3-6 in district play, The Lady Jackets have six games remaining to surpass Arlington Seguin and Mansfield Timberview for the final playoff spot.

They'll host the second-place Burleson Lady Elks Friday night at 5:30 p.m.

Once again holding its own early in the game, Cleburne were scoreless with Joshua (10-10, 6-2 district) through two-and-a-half innings.

However, the Lady Owls opened the game wide open with a 4-run third inning featuring RBI doubles from Kinlee Alexander and Taylor Proffitt.

Despite a run in the following inning by the Lady Jackets, Joshua went on to score five runs in the fifth and sixth innings.

Cleburne centerfielder Jayce Jones was the only Lady Jacket with multiple hits (2) and drove in the sole run in the fifth on an RBI double.
