Kentucky’s Georgia Amoore won’t let missed March Madness game-winning shot faze her
Kentucky Wildcats guard Georgia Amoore did everything she could to help her team reach the Sweet 16.
On Sunday, the Wildcats found themselves in familiar territory after barely escaping a March Madness upset in the first round against Liberty. The No. 5 seed Kansas State Wildcats went bucket for bucket with No. 4 seed Kentucky as the matchup into overtime, tied at 69. Led by forward Temira Poindexter, who had a sensational seven (!) 3-point baskets, Kansas State continued trading shots even as Kentucky went up by two with just over a minute left in the period.
Poindexter then nailed another gargantuan 3-ball to push the lead to 80-79. As the two teams continued battling with more time coming off the clock, Amoore inbounded the ball with a mere three seconds left, got it back with two seconds to go and heaved up a hail-mary floater ― only to bounce twice off the rim and fall away. OOF. There went Kentucky's NCAA tournament run and Georgia Amoore's college career.

After the game, Amoore seemingly brushed off the missed shot and even reportedly smiled about it. "I'm not gonna let one shot affect five years," Amoore said. "That's pretty much it."
