Chelsea are out of the race for Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen with their priority Marc Guehi according to journalist Eduardo Burgos.
The Blues are set for another busy summer and it’s believed they could sell as many as seven or eight players in order to fund their moves in the market.
Chelsea face a critical summer and are said to be looking at signing a striker, centre back and right footed attacker.
Chelsea out of Huijsen race
The Blues already have 19-year-old centre back Mamadou Sarr arriving from Strasbourg in the summer, but have been strongly linked with the Cherries star, who has a £50m release clause.
However, Burgos has reported Chelsea are now out of the race for the Spain international who’s put in a series of impressive performances for Bournemouth, with Guehi now their main priority.
He took to X.com and said:
“Dean Huijsen. The player is expected to leave Bournemouth this summer; he’s considered a lost cause. Real Madrid has already contacted his entourage.
“Bayern Munich and Liverpool (if Van Dijk leaves) are the rivals. Price: €60M. Chelsea is out of the running. Marc Guéhi is the priority.”
The Blues are said to have a strong relationship with people close to the Spaniard, but it’s also been reported the teenager prefers a move to Spain this summer.
Chelsea are said to be keen on brining Guehi back to Stamford Bridge and they tried to sign him in January, but ultimately opted against it.
The Blues need to add leadership and experience to their backline and Guehi despite only being 24 would add that.
The England international could be available on a cut price deal given he’s out of contract in the summer, with it seemingly unlikely he will pen fresh terms at Selhurst Park.
There’s expected to be plenty of movement at centre back this summer with Axel Disasi set to leave the club, whilst it’s also expected Trevoh Chalobah will move on.
