Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels received devastating news over the weekend when he learned that his former college teammate, Kyren Lacy, was tragically found dead at 24 years old.
Daniels transferred to LSU before the 2022 season and was the starting quarterback for his final two seasons. He won the Heisman Trophy in 2023 and became the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. After playing his first two seasons at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Lacy also transferred to LSU ahead of the 2022 season. He and Daniels were teammates for two seasons.
Daniels took the news hard and shared several memories of Lacy on his Instagram page.
Daniels shared several messages remembering his former teammate and good friend, including a video from last year's NFL draft where Daniels was with Malik Nabers after both were drafted. Lacy was excited for Daniels and Nabers.
Daniels also revealed his final collegiate touchdown pass to Lacy, a 15-yard strike in a 42-30 win over Texas A&M.
