Captain Shreve, Bossier, Loyola lead the Shreveport Times 2025 All-Metro boys soccer team
Loyola (20-3-6) came close to winning an LHSAA state title, while Bossier (18-7-2) and Calvary (15-11-1) made semifinal runs in their respective divisions, giving Shreveport area soccer fans plenty to cheer about in 2024-25.
Those three teams, along with Byrd, Captain Shreve, Benton, Northwood, Evangel, Caddo Magnet and Airline, had athletes earn spots on the Shreveport Times 2025 All-Metro boys soccer team, which was selected in consultation with Shreveport-Bossier City coaches.
Captain Shreve’s Jose Gomez, Bossier’s Wilson Alvarado and Loyola’s Hudson Moore, along with Loyola coach Wes Kyle, led the way on the team.

Major Awards
OVERALL MVP: Jose Gomez, Captain Shreve, Sr.
The skinny: Arguably the best striker in the state, Gomez is the undisputed overall MVP of the metro area. The senior scored over 50 goals this season guiding the Gators to their third straight district title and earning himself a state all-star selection.
OFFENSIVE MVP: Wilson Alvarado, Bossier, Jr.
The skinny: Alvarado was named Offensive MVP for Division III, District 1 after scoring 22 goals and providing 15 assists in Bossier’s fourth straight season making it to the Division III semifinals.
DEFENSIVE MVP: Hudson Moore, Loyola, Sr.
The skinny: Named Division III, District I Overall MVP, Moore totaled 15 clean sheets while only conceding 18 goals in 29 games to help the Flyers to a state championship appearance.
COACH OF THE YEAR: Wes Kyle, Loyola
The skinny: Kyle led the Flyers to a No. 1 seed and a state championship game appearance in their return to Division III finishing with a record of 20-3-6.

OVERCOMING RAIN: Loyola boys/girls, Byrd girls advance to LHSAA state championship soccer games in the rain
First team
FORWARD: Whit Sample, Loyola, Fr.
The skinny: The freshman forward finished the season with 20 goals as Loyola made its first state championship appearance since 2019.
FORWARD: Anderson Bryan, Byrd, Sr.
The skinny: Bryan led the Yellow Jackets’ front line finishing the year with 18 goals earning a first team selection for Division I, District 1.
MIDFIELDER: Zian Toves, Benton, Sr.
The skinny: A first team midfielder for Division I, District 1 the past two years, Toves finished the season with 13 goals, 7 assists for the Tigers and earned an state all-star selection.
MIDFIELDER: Emilio Martinez, Northwood, Sr.
The skinny: The Division II, District 1 Overall MVP helped lead the Falcons to a co-district title with 14 goals and 15 assists.
MIDFIELDER: Christian Lopez, Evangel, Sr.
The skinny: The talented star midfielder for the Eagles earned a state all-star selection with his efforts this season.
MIDFIELDER: Joseu Enamorado, Bossier, Sr.
The skinny: Enamorado, an all-district first team selection, finished with 19 goals and 16 assists and helped the Bearkats to the D-III semifinals.
MIDFIELDER: Marti Prat Northwood, Sr.
The skinny: The senior midfielder was named Division II, District 1 Offensive MVP after finishing the season with 15 goals and 12 assists.
DEFENDER: Connor Hoss, Captain Shreve, Sr.
The skinny: The Division I, District 1 Defensive MVP anchored the Gators’ defense and kept 18 shutouts on the way to a third straight district championship.
DEFENDER: Brett Pernell, Captain Shreve, Sr.
The skinny: Pernell earned a spot on the Division I, District 1 first team and, alongside Hoss, contributed to a strong Gator defense with 18 shutouts.
DEFENDER: John Wooden, Caddo Magnet, So.
The skinny: The Division II, District 1 Defensive MVP led the Mustangs to a co-district title and scored 10 goals as a defender.
UTILITY: Gordon Brown, Byrd, Sr.
The skinny: Brown played all around the attack for the Yellow Jackets earning himself Offensive MVP of Division I, District 1.
GOALIE: Logan Bamburg, Bossier, Sr.
The skinny: The senior shot stopper finished the season with 18 clean sheets and a spot on the Division III, District 1 first team.

Forwards: Dylan Johnson, Airline, Fr.; Stefan Cosse, Byrd, Jr.
