It's clear Tom Izzo was hoping for an earlier tip time in second round game vs. New Mexico
Michigan State basketball will be playing another late night game on Sunday, and Tom Izzo didn't appear particularly happy about it when he found out.
The Spartans beat Bryant in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday night, with the game bleeding into Saturday morning due to the post-10 p.m. ET tip off time. Adjusting to the late game time was something Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo had talked about earlier in the week, and he'll have to be ready for another late game on Sunday in the second round.
Tip off for Michigan State's second round game against New Mexico will be at 8:40 p.m. ET on Sunday. This was officially announced shortly after the Spartans' victory over the Bulldogs, and Izzo didn't seem to be excited about the late game time again. You can hear Izzo jokingly say in the video "at least its an hour earlier" referring to his first round matchup with Bryant. This was also after first putting his face in his hands initially. It seems quite clear he was hoping for an earlier tip time -- which I personally would have liked too.
