Isaiah Collier makes history for Jazz, breaks rookie record held by John Stockton

While the current USC men's basketball team is going through a major transition period, one of their recent alumni is quickly making a mark for himself in the NBA. It has been a very successful rookie season for Isaiah Collier with the Utah Jazz. Recently, Collier broke the franchise record for most assists in a season by a rookie.

The previous record was 415, set by the great John Stockton 40 years ago. That was no match for Collier, however, who broke the mark before the calendar even turned to April.

A five-star recruit out of high school, Collier played for Andy Enfield's final USC team in 2023-2024. In 27 games for the Trojans, he averaged 16.3 points and 4.3 assists per contest.

Although new head coach Eric Musselman attempted to keep Collier around for another year, he elected to declare for the 2024 NBA Draft. Utah selected Collier 29th overall in the draft. He has appeared in 71 games thus far this season, making 41 starts. To date, Collier has averaged 8.7 points and 6.3 assists per contest.
