Gurnee Warren sophomore Jaxson Davis and Chicago Whitney Young senior Destiny Jackson were named the 2025 Mr. and Ms. Basketball announced Friday by the Chicago Tribune in collaboration with the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association.
Davis becomes the first sophomore Mr. Basketball in the award's 45-history. The 6-foot-1 guard averaged 19.5 points, 4 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 2.8 steals for Warren (27-11), who finished as the Class 4A state runner-up.
Jackson, a 5-foot-6 senior guard, is the first Whitney Young player to receive the award since it began in 1986. The Illinois commit averaged 21.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.8 steals in leading the Dolphins to four consecutive Chicago Public League City championships.

In winning Mr. Basketball, Davis received 41 first-place votes, being named on 87 of 150 ballots. Bolingbrook sophomore Davion Thompson was second and Benton senior Docker Tedeschi third.
Jackson picked up 28 first-place votes and was named on 68 of 129 ballots, edging out Wilmette Loyola senior Aubrey Galvan, who received 29 first-place votes, but appeared on five fewer ballots.
