Ian Rapoport: 'I feel for sure' the Vikings are rolling with J.J. McCarthy

The Minnesota Vikings haven't formally announced that J.J. McCarthy will be their starting quarterback in 2025. But NFL Network's Ian Rapoport believes the Vikings are ready to move forward with McCarthy, whether they've publicly shared that sentiment or not.

"It feels like JJ McCarthy is for sure the Minnesota Vikings' guy," Rapoport said on The Pat McAfee Show on Monday. "....The conversations that have been had this week already seem to emphasize that even more."

The Vikings' main decision-makers have had plenty of camera time over the past week. General manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah said McCarthy "has met the bar" in his time as a Viking. Co-owner Mark Wilf said McCarthy is "doing great" at this week's owners' meeting. Kevin O'Connell said he felt "very good about projecting a positive year" for McCarthy.

Rapoport must be hearing the same things off-camera as well. The Vikings are poised to hand the reins of the franchise off to McCarthy this season. We will soon find out if he can live up to first-round draft status.
