Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Hunter Greene recorded his 500th career strikeout during Wednesday's series finale against the Texas Rangers.
The Reds tweeted that Greene needed the fewest games in franchise history to reach 500 Ks.
Greene, 25, entered the game with 493 strikeouts in 73 career starts. He was making his second start of the season. His final strikeout of the day gave him 501 for his career.
Greene struck out eight in seven innings Wednesday, throwing 94 pitches.
