Huge mock draft update after 1st wave of free agency
With the first big wave of free agency in the books, it is time to update our one-round mock for the 2025 NFL draft. With all the signings and trades over the course of the last week, plenty has changed in terms of teams' draft needs..
1 - Tennessee Titans - QB Cam Ward - Miami
We aren't solid on Ward as the top player in the draft but the Titans are desperate for a new quarterback.
2 - Cleveland Browns - DT Mason Graham - Michigan
Graham is a zero-faults defensive tackle who would pair up perfectly with Myles Garrett.
3 - New York Giants - OT Will Campbell - LSU
With Ward off the board, the Giants go with the top offensive tackle and address quarterback another way.
4 - New England Patriots - EDGE Abdul Carter - Penn State
The Patriots have to be happy that Carter falls to them in the first round as he's the best edge disruptor in the draft.
5 - Jacksonville Jaguars - CB Travis Hunter - Colorado
The Jags could use help at cornerback or wide receiver and Travis Hunter has starter potential at both spots.
6 - Las Vegas Raiders - RB Ashton Jeanty - Boise State
With their new quarterback in place, the Raiders go for the best offensive skill player in the draft to take some heat off of Geno Smith.
7 - New York Jets - OL Arman Membou - Missouri
Membou has Pro Bowl potential at guard and tackle and fits well with Justin Fields' style at quarterabck.
8 - Carolina Panthers - CB Will Johnson - Michigan
The Panthers have been very active in free agency so they can go after a shutdown cornerback to pair up with Jaycee Horn.
9 - New Orleans Saints - EDGE Mykel Williams - Georgia
Williams is crazy athletic with an elite first step and closing speed.
10 - Chicago Bears - LB Jalon Walker - Georgia
Back-to-back Bulldogs here as the Bears get maybe the most versatile defensive player in the draft in Walker.
11 - San Francisco 49ers - EDGE James Pearce Jr. - Tennessee
Pearce worked his way up draft boards after putting on an absolute show at the NFL scouting combine.
12 - Dallas Cowboys - WR Tetairoa McMillan - Arizona
The Cowboys need a No. 1 receiver to pair up with CeeDee Lamb and McMillan's physical style is NFL ready.
13 - Miami Dolphins - OT Kelvin Banks Jr. - Texas
The Dolphins can never have enough offensive linemen and Banks is going to be a day one starter.
14 - Indianapolis Colts - TE Tyler Warren - Penn State
The Colts offense needs all the playmakers it can get and Warren is an elite weapon at tight end.
15 - Atlanta Falcons - EDGE Shemar Stewart - Texas A&M
The Falcons roll the dice on the edge rusher who is the most raw of all the first-round prospects with the highest ceiling.
16 - Arizona Cardinals - WR Matthew Golden - Texas
The Cardinals are building a nice wide receiver depth chart and Golden gives them a guy who can pull the top off of a defense.
17 - Cincinnati Bengals - S Malaki Starks - Georgia
The Bengals must focus on the secondary early in the draft and Starks is an elite playmaker.
18 - Seattle Seahawks - OG Tyler Booker - Alabama
Seattle wants to run the football and Booker is one of the best run blockers in the draft at guard.
19 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers - S Nick Emmanwori - South Carolina
Emmanwori was the star of the NFL scouting combine and the hybrid linebacker/safety is a perfect chess piece for an NFL defense.
20 - Denver Broncos - WR Emeka Egbuka - Ohio State
We like Courtland Sutton but the rest of Denver's receivers are mostly role players and Egbuka has the potential to dominate in the slot.
21 - Pittsburgh Steelers - QB Shedeur Sanders - Colorado
Sanders' tumble ends with the Steelers who failed to address the quarterback position.
22 - Los Angeles Chargers - DT Derrick Harmon - Oregon
The Chargers have mostly role players on the defensive line and Harmon has the potential to play all along their front.
23 - Green Bay Packers - CB Jhadae Barron - Texas
The Packers could stand to add a playmaker on defense and Barron is a crazy athlete with a nose for the football.
24 - Minnesota Vikings - RB Omarion Hampton - North Carolina
Aaron Jones is 30 and the gap between Hampton and Jeanty is narrowing. Hampton is a three-down feature back.
25 - Houston Texans - OL Josh Simmons - Ohio State
The Texans did some strange things with their offensive line during free agency, so we opted for Simmons, who can start at guard or tackle.
26 - Los Angeles Rams - LB Jihaad Campbell - Alabama
Campbell is a sideline-to-sideline inside linebacker who is an upgrade at either of the Rams' spots.
27 - Baltimore Ravens - OL Grey Zabel - North Dakota State
Zabel is a throwback, blue collar lineman built for the physicality of the NFL.
28 - Detroit Lions - CB Shavon Revel - East Carolina
Revel missed all of the 2024 season with a torn ACL but he's healthy now and an easy first-round corner.
29 - Washington Commanders - EDGE Mike Green - Marshall
I'm not as high on Green as other pundits but at the end of the round he's a nice value pick for the Commanders.
30 - Buffalo Bills - WR Luther Burden III - Missouri
Khalil Shakir is a budding star but the rest of the group is fairly average and Burden is an instant upgrade.
31 - Kansas City Chiefs - DT Walter Nolen - Ole Miss
The Chiefs signed Jerry Tillery but Nolen is just too explosive and talented to pass up here.
32 - Philadelphia Eagles - CB Benjamin Morrison
When you are the best team in the NFL you have some freedom, so we go with Morrison to replace Cooper DeJean if he moves outside.
