Zach Edey had a historic game on Saturday night against the Pistons.
Edey set a Grizzlies rookie record with 21 rebounds as he feasted on the glass with Pistons center Jalen Duren out injured. Edey's previous career high had been 16 rebounds in a game.
Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant missed the game with an illness, but Memphis eked out a 109-103 win to win a second straight game heading into the final four games of the regular season.
It was another impressive performance for Edey, who has played well in the five games since Taylor Jenkins was fired and replaced by interim coach Tuomas Iisalo. He's tallied double-digit rebounds in four of those five games.
The Grizzlies close out a three-game road trip on Tuesday in Charlotte.
