How many national championships does Geno Auriemma, UConn's legendary coach, have?
UConn and March Madness have become synonymous as the Huskies have long been one of the most storied women’s basketball programs.
Led by college basketball’s all-time winningest coach, Geno Auriemma, the Huskies are on a mission in the 2025 women's NCAA Tournament to expand their trophy case and win their first title since 2016.
Since 1995, UConn has won 11 national championships, the most in women's college basketball. The Huskies were on a roll in the 2010s, winning four consecutive titles from 2013-16.
While the Huskies have had many stars come through the program, Auriemma has been there for all 11 titles since he arrived in 1985.
Auriemma's tenure is likely to continue as UConn announced last summer a contract extension that runs through the 2028-29 season.
