Have The Islanders' Lou Lamoriello And Patrick Roy Lost Their Fastballs?

Things have gone about as poorly as possible for the moribund New York Islanders this season.

Generally speaking, when a team is creating more drama off the ice than excitement on it, that's a sign that something is seriously wrong. In the past two weeks, Roy ripped Anthony Duclair and drew attention for putting 22-year-old Tristan Lennox in net in relief before pulling him after a goal on two shots.

The Islanders are a mess right now. In a business that sells hope, the Isles have little of that to offer at the moment. Both GM Lou Lamoriello and coach Patrick Roy - the two most important people in the hockey operations department - have to wear the culpability for much of that.

It's fair to question whether the game has passed both of them by. Today's video column has more.
