GVSU women’s basketball coach: ‘We showed we were the best’

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Valley State University women’s basketball head coach Mike Williams says the reason his team won a national title is simple: They were the best.

“We got to the Elite Eight: I think we showed we were the best team,” Williams said.

GVSU beat California State Dominguez Hills Friday in the Division II national championship game, clinching the program’s second national title and the university’s 30th since 2002.
