Girona star leading all of Europe in one goalscoring stat since start of last season
Girona star Cristhian Stuani has this weekend continued to build on his record as the most decisive substitute in Europe’s leading leagues.
This comes owing to his exploits in Girona’s meeting with Valencia.
Míchel’s troops marked their return to action on Saturday evening, welcoming Valencia to the Estadi Montilivi for a La Liga clash.
When all was said and done, the spoils were shared between the sides, owing to a 1-1 stalemate.
And it was that man Stuani who ensured that Girona did not emerge from the clash with nothing to show for their efforts.
After Diego López put Valencia in front just shy of the hour mark, Stuani emerged from the bench to draw the hosts level just five minutes later.
And as alluded to above, owing to as much, the veteran frontman built yet further on an altogether impressive individual benchmark.
As revealed by statisticians Opta, with 13 to his name, Stuani is the player with, by some way, the most goals as a substitute in Europe’s top five leagues since the beginning of the 2023/24 campaign:
