Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian and his wife, Loreal Sarkisian, welcomed their first child together earlier this week, adding to a family already tied closely to the Forty Acres.
Sarkisian has three children from a previous marriage, two daughters and a son. The son, Brady Sarkisian, is a second-year linebacker for the Longhorns. He will be a junior in 2025.
Brady Sarkisian, a Newport Beach, Calif., native, has been on the Longhorns for two years. After not appearing an any games his freshman year in 2023, he got into two games last season in 2024, seeing playing time in the opener against Colorado State and against UTSA.
“When he got in tonight, I took my headset off, and I played dad for about three plays,” Steve Sarkisian said. “I just watched my son play football at the University of Texas. That was really awesome.”
At Corona Del Mar High School, Sarkisian played outside linebacker and edge rusher while also contributing as a flex tight end. He recorded 33 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, five sacks and two pass breakups during his senior season. Across his junior and senior years, he totaled 65 tackles, 18 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks. He transferred to Corona Del Mar from Mater Dei before his junior season.
Last season, Steve Sarkisian shared a few moments about his son Brady: “I hope you guys credited him with something,” Sarkisian told UT’s radio broadcasters Craig Way and Roger Wallace afterward.
Way joked that he was calling the younger player “B. Sark” on the broadcast. “I love that,” Steve said. “That’s great.”
