George Foreman, two-time heavyweight champion and entrepreneur, dead at 76: In memoriam

George Foreman: January 10, 1949 - March 21, 2025

George Foreman, the legendary boxing champion, has died. He was 76. Foreman was a larger-than-life personality in the ring, which carried over after his fighting day to a successful run in business as well as entertainment.

The gold medal winner in 1968 at the Summer Olympics in Mexico City, Foreman's boxing career continued into his 40s, a miraculous run in the sport.Fans would later know him for his George Forman Grill, an invention that introduced Big George the Entrepreneur to a new audience.

“Our hearts are broken,” a family message began on Instagram. “With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved George Edward Foreman Sr., who peacefully departed on March 21, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.”
