GdS: ‘Sudden stop!’ – Paratici no longer coming to Milan after talks break down

Fabio Paratici seemingly was heading to the new sporting director role at AC Milan rather uncontested, but this is no longer the case.

In the past few weeks, Paratici’s name has reigned supreme when it came to the sporting director discussion. So, when it was reported that the deal was all but done, there were no real shocks, but the Italian will not arrive now, it seems.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport this morning, the talks have reached a ‘sudden stop’, and Milan will now return to looking for a new director.

Whilst the disqualification factor was known, the report states that its impact would be more serious than first imagined, with it being the ‘most delicate’ part of discussions between the two parties. Though it once seemed passable, it has been the leading cause of the breakdown between the parties.

Paratici would not be able to have an impact until late July, which is a huge chunk of time for a club needing to make so many decisions this summer, which is what the Rossoneri need. So, the Diavolo will return to their meetings, with Tony D’Amico and Igli Tare coming back into the fold as the only two named candidates in the report.
