AC Milan are looking to hire a new sporting director, and a report this morning suggests that there are only two candidates left in play. But, it seems there is a priority.
The candidates to be the new sporting director have changed quite regularly, but the past fortnight has shown us that there have only been a few ‘serious’ options actually involved in proceedings. Of course, the leader was Fabio Paratici, but he is no longer an option.
So, as Gazzetta dello Sport writes, it is a two-man choice, with Tony D’Amico also dropping out of the race recently. The men in question are Igli Tare and Giovanni Sartori, the former of whom was heavily favoured by Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gerry Cardinale.
Since the meeting with Ibra and Cardinale, the former Lazio director’s placement in proceedings has seemingly dropped. However, this morning’s report shows that he is still very much involved in the situation, and it seems he may even be the preferred candidate.
According to Gazzetta, a meeting is scheduled for the next 48 hours between Giorgio Furlani and Tare to discuss their ideas for the project moving forward, and the report states it will be a ‘decisive’ conversation for him and the club.
