Former Tennessee Titans WR Julio Jones announces his retirement from the NFL

While the Tennessee Titans are hunting for wide receivers for 2025, one of their former wideouts called it a career and announced his retirement on Friday.

Julio Jones only spent one season with the Titans, but his impact on the game and NFL legacy will live on. One of the most dominant receivers in NFL history, the seven-time Pro Bowler burst onto the scene after being drafted sixth overall by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2011 NFL draft.

During his 10-year career with the Falcons, he set numerous team records and was, at times, almost unstoppable. He finished his stay in Atlanta with 848 receptions for 12,896 yards and 60 touchdowns. During that stretch, he became the fastest wide receiver in NFL history to reach 10,000 yards in 104 games, eclipsing the mark of former record holder Calvin Johnson by 11 games.

Jones was traded to the Titans on June 6, 2021, when Tennessee sent the Falcons a second-round pick (2022) and a fourth-round pick (2023) in exchange for Jones and a sixth-round selection in the 2023 NFL draft. Jones did not make the same impact as many expected, playing opposite of A.J. Brown. He finished his only season in Nashville with 31 receptions for 434 yards and one touchdown.

Jones finished his career after the 2023 season, recording 914 catches for 13,703 yards and 66 touchdowns split over four teams: Atlanta, Tennessee, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Philadelphia Eagles.
