A former Michigan State Spartans offensive lineman will reportedly work out for the Detroit Lions next week.
Luke Newman has been reportedly invited to the Detroit Lions local pro day at the team's practice facility in Allen Park, Mich. The local pro day for the Lions will be held next week.
A Detroit Lions' affiliate Sports Illustrated site reported the notable Newman news on Wednesday.
Newman played one season for the Spartans after transferring from Holy Cross. In his lone season with the Spartans in 2024, he started all 12 games at left tackle and led Michigan State with 739 offensive snaps. He earned an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection by both the coaches and the media for his strong play during the 2024 season.
Newman recently impressed during his Michigan State pro day and has started to get some buzz as a possible late round selection in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft. The draft will be held in Green Bay, Wisc. this year and take place from April 24 to April 26.
