Former Michigan State hockey star Joey Larson scored his first career professional goal on Saturday night.
Larson moved on from Michigan State following the completion of the season last week, and signed a one-year entry level contract with the New York Islanders earlier this week. And it hasn't taken long for him to have an impact at the next level with the Islanders' American Hockey League affiliate Bridgeport Islanders.
Larson recorded his first career professional goal with the Bridgeport Islanders on Saturday. He fired a shot from the slot that found its way into the back of the net against the Charlotte Checkers.

Larson appeared in 37 games last season as a junior for the Spartans. He finished the campaign with 10 goals and 14 assists. Larson played two seasons for the Spartans and one for Northern Michigan. He transferred to Michigan State ahead of the 2023 season.
Larson had the opportunity to return for his senior season but elected to forego his final year of eligibility and sign with the Islanders.
