Did Derik Queen travel on his buzzer-beating game-winner for Maryland?
Derik Queen just saved Maryland's March Madness run with a stunning banked game-winning buzzer beater to take down Colorado State, who had just taken the lead over three seconds before with an incredible clutch three-pointer.
But ... there are questions being asked about Queen's shot: did he travel on it?
My initial take: it didn't look like it to the naked eye. But a replay that you'll see below has a lot of folks wondering if he took three steps instead of two, or if that first step came as he was gathering the ball off his dribble. And, obviously, this is all moot because Maryland won, full stop.
Read and watch these, and then you make the call: did he travel or not?
For you gather-step-haters: This Maryland game-winner is a travel by the rulebook. He gathers the ball with his right foot down (pivot foot), then lifts it and puts it back down—travel. BUT this happens so often on drives, no one bats an eye. pic.twitter.com/TEvRVgL4fm

In the interest of checking in and making sure with those who know best, I just spoke to a veteran official and they said without wiggle room for interpretation: Derik Queen absolutely traveled on this shot.
