Denver native Wyndham Clark reacts to Broncos’ free agency moves
PGA Tour superstar, Colorado native and "diehard Denver Broncos fan" Wyndham Clark spoke to Up and Adams host Kay Adams about the Broncos' initial free agent signings in a recent podcast, notably linebacker Dre Greenlaw and safety Talanoa Hufanga from the San Francisco 49ers.
"Here's the thing I love; I'm a huge defensive guy when it comes to NFL football," said Clark when asked about Denver's free agency additions. "I think I learned my lesson in (2013) when we lost the Super Bowl to Seattle. The best offense against the best defense, it was just atrocious. Two years later, we build up with an amazing defense and we win the Super Bowl.
"Now we're in this current state and I love that we keep doubling down on defense. I love getting Hufanga, love getting Dre Greenlaw, and what I love about it is continuing to get better on that side."
The 2023 US Open winner also pitched in his two cents about who the Broncos should select in the upcoming NFL draft.
"I want (Michigan tight end Colston) Loveland," said Clark. "I want a game-breaking tight end. I feel like tight ends are more valuable to me than a good wide receiver. I mean you see (Kansas City's Travis) Kelce is so hard to guard."
Of note, Clark made the pitch for Loveland before Denver landed Evan Engram in free agency.
You can view both clips from Clark's interview below. The Broncos fared much better than Clark last week, as Clark failed to make the cut at The Player's Championship in Florida.
Is Denver's Defense about to be ranked #1 in the world???
