Commanders QB Jayden Daniels' first touchdown pass will be historic for multiple reasons
Yes, Terry McLaurin caught 13 touchdown passes this season for the Washington Commanders. How well do you recall Jayden Daniels' first NFL touchdown pass?
No, it wasn't McLaurin. No, it wasn't Zach Ertz, though that would be a good guess because Ertz was second behind McLaurin with seven receiving touchdowns for the Commanders.
Olamide Zaccheaus collected three touchdown passes, and Jamison Crowder was on the receiving end of two touchdown passes from Daniels. Still, neither of these receivers caught Daniels' first NFL touchdown pass either.
Receivers Noah Brown and Dyami Brown each had one touchdown reception, as did rookie tight end Ben Sinnott. But they also did not catch Daniels' first NFL touchdown pass.
This leaves only one other Washington Commander who caught a touchdown pass in 2024. That's right: offensive tackle Trent Scott is the man who had the privilege and honor. Offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury called the ole "tackle eligible" pass from the one-yard line in a Monday Night Football (MNF) game in Cincinnati against the Bengals.
The Commanders led the Bengals 21-13 in the third quarter and had a second-and-goal from the one-yard line when Kingsbury made the call. Daniels faked to Brian Robinson, turned, and rolled briefly to his left, and Scott had come wide open on the play. Daniels hit him with the pass, and Scott held on for Daniels' first NFL touchdown pass.

Teammates were ecstatic for Scott, and Daniels was visibly excited as well. Scott will certainly never forget the moment, and he will undoubtedly be the answer to a trivia question for years to come.
