Colorado guard Javon Ruffin enters NCAA transfer portal

Colorado basketball lost another player to the transfer portal on Wednesday, with reports surfacing that junior guard Javon Ruffin intends to leave the program.

Ruffin joins bench players Harrison Carrington and Courtney Anderson as the three players departing Colorado thus far. Ruffin is the most talented of the bunch, playing in 33 games this season and averaging 20.3 minutes and 5.6 points per game.

The 6-foot-5 guard played all three seasons at Colorado but never really carved out a stable role after several significant knee injuries throughout his CU career. He will leave Colorado having played 75 games (starting 12), shooting 38% from the field and 32.6% from the 3-point line.

The New Orleans native will now be looking for his final home as a collegiate player, leaving Tad Boyle with another roster spot to fill this spring.

Colorado had a miserable season, going 14-21 overall and finishing last in the Big 12 with a 33-17 record. The Buffs went 0-10 on the road and lost 85-64 on Tuesday evening against Villanove in the College basketball Crown to officially end their season.
