Michigan State and Auburn are going to be squaring off in one of the biggest games of the season, closing out the Elite 8 round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday evening. The game comes on the heels of the Spartans defeating Ole Miss, and the Tigers defeating Michigan in the Sweet 16.
As there always is, there was a ton of debating between the Spartans and Wolverines fan base the past few weeks, especially centering around whether the Big Ten regular season or tournament championship meant you were the "real Big Ten champion."
During his press conference on Saturday, Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl gave his two cents on the topic, and Spartan fans are going to love the response from the Tigers head man.
"Michigan won the Big Ten tournament. But Michigan State won the Big Ten. And they are THE best team in that league."
Pearl shared that the regular season title might just mean a little bit more than the conference tournament title, putting a major damper on the argument Wolverine fans have been making for the past couple of weeks.
