Boston Celtics 2016 NBA draft rewind: Jaylen Brown gets booed
Younger or more recent fans of the Boston Celtics and specifically star forward Jaylen Brown might be surprised to learn that when the Celtics drafted the Georgia native with the third overall pick of the 2016 NBA draft, the Boston fans who were in attendance actually booed the team for drafting Brown.
A lot of it was due to the desire of the fans to take other prospects projected near the top of that class as much as it was the fact that Brown playing at Cal did not give his new East Coast ball club's fans much of a chance to get familiar with his game. But thankfully, that ugly blip is now a very minor footnote in what he has accomplished with the Celtics, well on his way to a Hall of Fame career in the league (and that is only talking about what he does on the court).
The folks behind the "NBC Sports Boston" YouTube channel put together a clip looking back at that awkward moment in team history. Take a look for yourself in the clip below!
