Boom! The Ohio State Football team is on some kind of recruiting roll. Having just secured the No. 1 safety prospect in Blaine Bradford, the Buckeyes just got a verbal pledge from another four-star safety, Simeon Caldwell.
Caldwell is ranked as the No. 5 linebacker in the nation according to 247Sports although he is listed as a safety. However, he could be in the same situation as a Sonny Styles and after putting on some mass in college may outgrow the position. It's another recruiting win for the Buckeyes going deep into the heart of SEC country and pulling a top prospect. Caldwell hails from Jacksonville, Florida.
Ohio State got in on Caldwell over a year ago, extending an offer in January of 2024. He is a long, athletic player coming in at 6-foot, 3 inches, and 185 pounds. The Florida native is the nephew of Buckeye co-defensive coordinator Tim Walton. He also happens to be the teammate of another OSU commit, Corbyn Fordham a four-star tight-end.
Similar to Chris Henry Jr, Caldwell has shut down his recruitment and canceled official visits to Miami, Notre Dame, and USC.
