Thursday, March 14
Spring Garden senior guard Ace Austin was announced as the Alabama Gatorade State Player of the Year after leading her team to the AHSAA 1A state championship and averaging 26.5 points and 8.2 rebounds this season. The University of Alabama signee ended her high school career with 3,940 points, 1,430 assists, 1,379 rebounds and 861 steals.
Baseball
Wednesday, March 12
Ashville's Dylan Palmer hit 2-for-2 in a 13-3 loss to Westbrook Christian.
Ashville's Dylan Palmer and Camden McLemore both went 2-for-2 in a 14-1 doubleheader loss to Westbrook Christian.
Boaz's Tyler Pierce threw a perfect game in a 10-0 home win against Guntersville. In five innings, Pierce allowed no runs, no hits, no earned runs, no walks and struck out 10. On offense, Pierce scored twice and walked once.
Westbrook Christian's Brody Blevens, Jacob Maples and Brady Carden each hit 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs in a 15-0 win against Ashville. On the mound, Carden struck out 6 batters in 3 innings.
Westbrook Christian designated hitter Dylan Rainey had 3 RBIs in a 14-1 win against Ashville in a doubleheader.
Tuesday, March 11
Ashville's Trevor Wicks scored the team's lone run in an 11-1 loss to Westbrook Christian.
Boaz's Mac Thompson hit 2-for-3, scoring 3 runs, with 2 RBIs and 2 walks in a 15-2 win against Guntersville.
Cherokee County's Parker Wilson hit 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs in a 5-2 loss to Southside.
Gaston's Conner Humphrey's double scored three runs in the bottom of the 4th inning to help power an 8-7 win against Cedar Bluff. Humphrey was also the winning pitcher, allowing five hits and six runs, three earned, over five innings. He struck out four and walked three. Hunter Stallings hit a home run in the third inning.
Southside's Ethan Sarratt hit 2-for-2 with one RBI, 2 walks and a run scored in a 5-2 win against Cherokee County.
Westbrook Christian's Brodie Johnson hit 4-for-4 with 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored in an 11-1 win against Ashville.
Saturday, March 8
Boaz's Brayden Bennett hit 2-for-3 and scored one run, and Aiden O'Rourke hit 2-for-3 in a 5-2 loss to Lawrence County. Bennett scored twice and walked once in two at bats in a 3-1 win against Lawrence County in the doubleheader.
Southside's Eli Stewart scored two runs and walked twice in a 10-3 win against Moody. Will Stapleton had 2 RBIs.

Thursday, March 13
Boaz's Ava Rhoden hit 4-for-5, with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a 12-1 win against Douglas. Bailey Rusk hit 3-for-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs.
Fyffe's Nevaeh Smith and Kendra Fay both went 2-for-3 in an 11-1 loss to Ider.
Fyffe's Sam Galloway knocked in two runs, including her home run, in an 8-6 loss to Ider in a doubleheader.
Gaston's Kayleigh Rogers struck out 14 batters in an 11-0 win against Crossville. Rogers allowed 6 hits and 3 walks in 7 innings.
Wednesday, March 12
Springville's Riley Ruple hit 2-for-2 with 2 runs scored, 3 RBIs and one walk in a 13-0 win against Ashville. Georgia Chancellor pitched all four innings of the run-shortened game, striking out 8 batters while walking 2 and allowing no hits.
Tuesday, March 11
Boaz pitcher Grier Maples earned the 3-0 win against Douglas. In 7 innings, she allowed 4 hits, 2 walks and struck out 9 batters.
Fyffe's Madelyn Hawkins' four at bats included 3 hits, with a double and one RBI, in a 3-2 loss to Sylvania.
Hokes Bluff's Sophia Jackson hit 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs, 2 runs scored and a walk in a 8-7 win against Glencoe. Lainey Kate Beggs hit 3-for-4 and scored a run.
Plainview's Piper Anderson pitched a perfect game in a 10-0 win against Kate Duncan Smith DAR. In 5 innings, Anderson struck out 9 batters and allowed no runs, no hits and no walks. Ellie Fleming hit 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored.
Monday, March 10
Ashville's Alexis St. John struck out 25 batters in a 12-inning, 5-1 loss to Hokes Bluff. St. John and Hokes Bluff pitcher Lacey Grace Hall both threw 11-straight shutout innings. St. John allowed 7 hits, five runs (all unearned) and 5 walks. Her 25 strikeouts ties for the 8th-most all time in a single game in AHSAA history.
Hokes Bluff's Alexis Colvard knocked in four runs in a 5-1 win against Ashville, all in the 12th inning where it was a scoreless game at the top of the 12th. Lacey Grace Hall threw 11-straight scoreless innings heading into the top of the 12th. Hall allowed 8 hits, 3 walks and 10 strikeouts.
Fyffe's Kendra Fay had 2 hits, a walk and one RBI in a 13-4 loss to North Sand Mountain.
Plainview's Miley Dukes had 3 RBIs in a 10-5 win against Scottsboro.
Scottsboro's Ali Jones hit 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs and a run scored in a 10-5 loss to Plainview.
Saturday, March 8
Boaz's Ava Rhoden got both of the team's 2 hits, going 2-for-3 at the plate in a 10-0 loss to Curry.
Boaz's Peyton Hall went 3-for-4 with one RBI and two runs scored in a 11-10 win against Southside.
Southside's Rylann Shaw hit 2-for-3 and scored 3 runs while knocking in 4 RBIs in a 11-10 loss to Boaz.

Wednesday, March 12
Southside's Camren Thompson scored 3 goals in a 5-1 win against Austin, 3 goals in a 5-0 win against Douglas, and 4 goals in a 5-1 win against Guntersville, all in play at Albertville's Lake City Cup. Thompson was voted tournament MVP.
