Bills new coaches include two-time Super Bowl champion who played Major League Lacrosse

The Buffalo Bills have finalized their 2025 coaching staff. Five of the 24 coaches join the organization this year.

Chris Tabor (special teams coordinator), Ryan Nielson (senior defensive assistant), Mike Pellegrino (nickelbacks coach), Jason Rebrovich (assistant defensive line) and Turner West (assistant special teams) were hired since the Bills' season ended.

Offensive coordinator Joe Brady and defensive coordinator Bobby Babich are entering their second seasons in their respective roles. Head coach Sean McDermott, Brady and Babich have been with the Bills for a combined 22 seasons.

McDermott, tight ends coach Rob Boras, running backs coach Kelly Skipper, passing game specialist Marc Lubick are the longest-tenured Bills coaches at nine years.

The Bills have have five assistants, not including Brady and Babich, with NFL offensive or defensive coordinator experience.

Here is what to know about the additions to the Bills' staff.

Chris Tabor, special teams coordinator: Tabor will lead the Bills' special teams unit, replacing Matt Smiley, who spent eight years with Buffalo. Tabor was let go by the Carolina Panthers after the 2023 season and did not coach in 2024. He's spent 16 years in the NFL and was special teams coordinator in Cleveland (2011-17), Chicago (2018-2021) and Carolina (2022-2023). Tabor has taken over as interim head coach for seven games, once in Chicago when Matt Nagy tested positive for COVID-19 in 2021 and for six games in 2023 after Frank Reich was fired. Tabor has coached a return specialist who was selected to the Pro Bowl five times. Tabor has coached for more than 30 years, rising from the high school ranks to community college to Division I to the NFL.

Ryan Nielsen, senior defensive assistant: Nielsen comes to the Bills after a season as the defensive coordinator of the Jacksonville Jaguars. In 2023, he was the defensive coordinator and defensive line coach of the Atlanta Falcons. Nielson spent his first six seasons coaching in the NFL with the New Orleans Saints as a defensive line coach, assistant head coach and co-defensive coordinator. He was a defensive tackle at USC from 1997 to 2001 and began his coaching career at his alma mater as a volunteer assistant.

Mike Pellegrino, nickelbacks coach: Pellegrino, 31, is staying in the AFC East. Pellegrino won two Super Bowls with the New England Patriots from 2015-2024. The former two-time All-American lacrosse player at Johns Hopkins and Major League Lacrosse player joined New England as a coaching as coaching assistant before being promoted to cornerbacks coach in 2019. Pellegrino takes over for Scott Booker, who swapped and was hired by the New England Patriots.

Jason Rebrovich, assistant defensive line coach: This is Rebrovich's second stint with the Bills. He coached in Buffalo from 2013-2016 in various positions, including defensive quality control coach, assistant defensive line coach, outside linebackers coach and defensive line coach. Rebrovich spent four years with the Jacksonville Jaguars and re-enters Buffalo after three seasons with the Green Bay Packers as outside linebackers coach, pass rush specialist and defensive line coach. Rebrovich was born in Clarence, graduated from SUNY Cortland and coached in college at Cortland and Syracuse.

Turner West, assistant special teams: West is back coaching in the NFL after three seasons as Georgia Southern's special teams coordinator and three years in the same role at The Citadel. He worked at UAB, Samford and Middle Tennessee before landing the assistant linebackers coach job with the Dallas cowboys from 2014-17. West, who was was a wide receiver at the University of Memphis, went back to college coaching the linebackers at Austin Peay in 2018.

Will Greenberg promoted to Bills' head strength and conditioning coach

Buffalo promoted Will Greenberg as its new head strength and conditioning coach. Greenberg replaces Eric Ciano, who was fired in February.

Barry Rubin was named senior strength and conditioning assistant.

Ciano worked 15 seasons for the Bills, and was named the strength coach of the year by The Professional Football Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association for the 2019 season. Ciano was hired by the Jacksonville Jaguars as director of strength and conditioning a week after he was let go by Buffalo.
