Bigfork, Eureka boys cruise to shutout wins

Apr. 6—TROY — The Bigfork Vikings plated 15 runs in the second inning, drawing 14 team walks in an 18-0 baseball victory over the Troy Trojans in just three innings Saturday afternoon.

Sam Plummer reached base in all three plate appearances, going 3-for-3 with two singles, a double and three RBIs. Cavin West matched Plummer with three hits, all singles and drove in three runs out of the nine spot.

Holland Jantzen added three more runs and Liam Benson reached base in all four plate appearances and came around to score each time. Benson also pitched two scoreless frames, allowing two hits and three strikeouts.

Eureka 12, Plains-Hot Springs 0

EUREKA — Hunter Greive went 2-for-4 and drove in five RBIs as the Eureka Lions handled Plains-Hot Springs.

Tyce Van Orden picked up two hits, scoring three times from the leadoff spot and pitched three hitless frames with seven strikeouts for the Lions. Rowan Burow came on in relief in the fourth inning and stuck out two, allowing the first hit of the game for the Savage Horsemen.

Logan Cuffe closed out the game for Eureka, matching Burow with one hit and two Ks. Cuffe reached base twice, going 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI.

Wyatt Butcher and Jackson Lucier picked up the hits for the Savage Horsemen, who as a team struck out 11 times with no walks.
