Bengals provide update on Hendrickson, Pratt trade requests

The Cincinnati Bengals have two notable trade requests hanging over the team right now.

Understandably, the trade requests of Trey Hendrickson and Germaine Pratt were topics of discussion on Monday at league meetings, with Bengals head coach Zac Taylor addressing those.

On Hendrickson, Taylor praised the star pass rusher and made it clear the team still wants to get something done.

"Very consistent. Not just two years, four years for us and I think he's one of the premier pass rushers in this league," Taylor said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. "Teams have to devote a lot of attention to him as they start their game plan each week. He's been a guy who works his tail off day in and day out 365 days a year, which I can respect and appreciate. We'll just continue to work through the process with Trey."

Taylor was more vague on the topic of Pratt, though, as captured by the Cincinnati Enquirer's Kelsey Conway: "We'll just keep moving forward right now with Germaine and see where it ends up."

Recent reporting suggested the Bengals shut down all Hendrickson trade ideas not long after granting his request to seek one. The combination of the team's asking price via trade and the contract Hendrickson's new team would need to dish out stalled anything meaningful -- never mind the Bengals not wanting to let him go in the first place.

Pratt always seemed likelier to move and the fact that his request came right around the time Al Golden was announced as the new defensive coordinator stuck out. But moving his $8.1 million cap number in the final year of his deal compared to his play on the field last season was always unlikely, too.
