Bengals floated as free-agency fit for former DPOTY
TheĀ Cincinnati Bengals have been suggested as fits for plenty of free agents before and after the market opened.
One of those common themes has been the suggestion that the Bengals should add a cornerback to the roster, which makes some sense. The team has young upstarts Dax Hill and DJ Turner coming back from injuries, while Cam Taylor-Britt's play tanked last season.
The latest idea offers up an interesting name though, with For the Win's Cory Woodroof suggesting the Bengals sign Stephon Gilmore: "The Bengals need some experience in the cornerback room, and Gilmore could provide plenty of it."
Whether the Bengals would be interested in Gilmore's experience is hard to say, considering he's 34 going on 35 in September. Last season with the Minnesota Vikings, he ranked 94th out of 222 cornerbacks graded at PFF with one interception.
The Bengals aren't strangers to going after corners like Eli Apple to aid the room's depth. But if they do, it might come after they see how the draft pans out.
Right now, the Bengals still need to consider bringing Mike Hilton back (unlikely with Dax Hill apparently going to that role) and someone like former member of the team Chidobe Awuzie just got cut and is available, too.
