Apr. 4—MANKATO — The BOLD baseball team got the season officially started with a 4-2 victory over Mankato Loyola on Thursday at ISG Field.
The Crusaders (0-2) took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. But, BOLD struck for four runs in the top of the seventh. Daylen Weber went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and Emit Flann was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Warriors.
Jonah Walton got the complete-game win, scattering 10 hits and allowing two unearned runs. He struck out four and walked one.
TJ O'Malley was 3-for-4 with a double and a stolen base for Loyola. O'Malley also pitched six scoreless innings, allowing three hits and three walks. He struck out one.
Loyola is a co-op in baseball that includes Immanuel Lutheran, Mankato Christian Academy and Breuer Home School.
BOLD is next scheduled to play at 4 p.m. next Thursday in a West Central Conference doubleheader with Minnewaska at the Lakers' Marthaler Field.
