At Yankee Stadium: Gallen had a tough go on Opening Day, giving up four runs in four innings on four hits and four walks. … He had difficulty finding the strike zone at one point in the second inning, throwing 11 consecutive balls over a three-batter stretch. … Gallen has pitched at Yankee Stadium once in his career, firing six scoreless innings in a September 2023 start. He has faced the Yankees one other time in a home start last year and also threw six scoreless. Moreover, CF Cody Bellinger is 1 for 20 with seven strikeouts in his career against Gallen. … Rodon threw well against the Brewers on Opening Day, allowing just one run in 5 1/3 innings. He took the ball in place of RHP Gerrit Cole, who is out following elbow surgery. … Rodon threw a healthy dose of sliders (28) compared to fastballs (34 four-seamers and sinkers) in his first start.
