Are Titans a dark horse to land veteran QB Aaron Rodgers?
It's not a secret that the Tennessee Titans are desperate for help at the quarterback position. Will Levis hasn't developed the way the organization hoped, Mason Rudolph was subpar behind one of the league's worst offensive lines in 2024, and Malik Willis left for Green Bay where he looks like a completely different player than he did in Nashville. The front office made it clear that Levis' starting position is up for grabs and they are searching for his competition.
The Titans were active during the initial wave of free agency, solidifying its offensive line and making other moves. But there has been a noticeable lack of movement at the quarterback position, leading most to assume the Titans will use their top overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft on Miami's Cam Ward. However, the Titans haven't settled on what they're doing with that pick, which is prompting some to make other guesses. CBS Sports recently named six potential landing spots for veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and the Titans were on the list.
Other teams on the list include the Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings, and Pittsburgh Steelers. The sixth landing spot was retirement.
The Titans could want to sign Rodgers, he's a future Hall-of-Famer who could provide a decent bridge between quarterbacks. The bigger issue is where Rodgers wants to land, and it's not likely to be Tennessee. He is at the stage of his career where he wants to win a Super Bowl and retire on a winning note. There aren't many teams that are Super Bowl contenders that need a quarterback, which is why retirement is just as probable as signing somewhere new.
But, if we're being honest, Tennessee isn't where Aaron Rodgers wants to land.
