Are the Warriors an underdog threat in the Western Conference playoff picture?
Since adding Jimmy Butler ahead of the Feb. 6 trade deadline, the Golden State Warriors have surged up the Western Conference standings. They've gone from battling for a spot as the tenth seed, to fighting to establish themselves in the top-6, securing a guaranteed playoff spot.
Steve Kerr's team ranks seventh in the NBA for defensive rating. They've also begun to find somewhat of an identity on the offensive end. Butler's presence has played a significant role in the upturn in production. As a result, the Warriors look like a team that could make genuine noise throughout the postseason.
In a recent video from the 'Athletic Alchemy' YouTube channel, the host explored the Warriors' recent surge and why their current production is real and should be taken seriously. The video also discussed whether Golden State could legitimately make a push for the Western Conference finals or beyond.
