SOFTBALL

Kaukauna 12, Hortonville 1

HORTONVILLE - The Ghosts scored in every inning but one as they opened Fox Valley Association play with the big win.

Lilly Boyle had the hot bat for Kaukauna, going 5-for-5 with a double and five RBI.

Paige Bodenheimer was 3-for-5, while Taylor Federwitz was 2-for-3 as the Ghosts scored once in the first, twice in the second, once in the third, three in the fourth, two in the fifth and three in the seventh.

The Polar Bears scored their lone run in the fourth.

Karly Meredith picked up the win, pitching seven innings, allowing four hits and one run, while striking out 10.

Neenah 11, Kimberly 0

KIMBERLY - Kaylee Marhefke banged out three hits, including two doubles, as the Rockets finished with six hits en route to the Fox Valley Association win.

Kimberly had three hits, including two by Sophie Hermus and one by Kylie VanHandel.

Fond du Lac 3, Appleton North 1

FOND DU LAC - Susan Vokes scattered five hits across seven innings to lead the Cardinals to the win over the Lightning.

McKenna Thome had a home run and two RBI for Fond du Lac.

Appleton North falls to 1-2 overall with the loss.

Fox Valley Lutheran 16, Waupaca 0

APPLETON - Madison Babcock was dominant in the circle, allowing one hit and no walks while striking out 11 in four innings of work.

The Foxes scored seven times in the first and five in the second to all but sew up the North Eastern Conference win.

Claire Pfrang, Natalie Bromm, Ava Martin, Nora Probst and Avery Steffes had two hits each to power the Foxes.

A.J. Koran had Waupaca’s lone hit.

FVL will travel to Appleton North for a nonconference matchup Friday.

Winneconne 11, Ripon 1

RIPON - The Wolves scored five times in the first inning, added four in the fourth and finished off the Tigers with two runs in the fifth inning.

Grace Mitchell and Julia Youngbauer both drove in three runs for Winneconne.

Libby Jahnke had a double and a home run for Winneconne. Youngbauer and Audra Schaffer both had doubles. Claire Schaffer and Mitchell hit home runs.

Youngbauer got the win for Winneconne, allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out seven over five innings.

Bonduel 11, Weyauwega-Fremont 1

BONDUEL - Emery Thompson threw a complete-game no-hitter, walking four and striking out nine as the Bears opened Central Wisconsin Conference play with the win over the Warhawks.

Thompson also led the Bears at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and three RBI. Jayla Reinke was also 3-for-3 with an RBI, while Tatum Sporisky also had two hits with a double and two RBI.

Bonduel banged out 13 hits on the afternoon.

KIMBERLY - Sawyer Deering picked up the win, pitching four innings and allowing three hits and two walks while striking out seven as the Papermakers cruised to the Fox Valley Association win.

Maddux Hermus picked up the save, pitching the final three innings, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out one.
