Apr. 2—LIBBY — Trailing 5-2 going into their last at-bats Tuesday, the Libby Loggers scored five runs with Dakota Allen's three-run homer capping a 7-5 walk-off softball win.
The non-conference win moved the Loggers' record to 2-1; Carmen Kohler went the distance in the circle, scattering nine hits and three walks, with four earned runs and seven strikeouts.
Flathead (0-4) surged into a 5-2 lead with three runs in the fifth, all after two were out: Danica Hennell singled and came around when Makenna Korf's single was misplayed in center; Paulina Holland's RBI double made it 4-2, and Lacie Franklin followed with another double to knock in Holland.
Libby's seventh inning got started with an error, letting Jayva Boehmier reach first; Teighler Parker then was hit by a pitch and Weslee MacDonald followed with an RBI single.
After an RBI grounder by Madison Vincent, Rachel Kosters singled. Allen, who doubled in a run in the first, came up and homered to left.
Franklin was also in the circle for the Bravettes: She allowed four earned runs and no walks with eight strikeouts.
Vincent and Kosters scored two runs each. For Flathead, Hennell had three hits, including a double, and scored twice.
