Alejandro Tosti has responded via social media regarding Sunday's slow-play situation at the 2025 Texas Children's Houston Open.
Let's set the scene: eventual winner Min Woo Lee hit his tee shot way right on No. 8 during Sunday's final round. Tosti, playing in the final grouping with Lee and Ryan Fox, was upset with how long Lee took to play his approach shot. Lee's ball was under a bush, and after talking with his caddie for more than 10 minutes, he eventually took an unplayable and hit his third shot from the dirt next to aforementioned shrubbery.

NBC's cameras caught Tosti calling over a rules official and complaining about how long Lee took to play his shot. Jim "Bones" Mackay, walking with the final group, reported Tosti also got into it with Ryan Fox on the first hole, saying Tosti was "a little bit disrespectful" when Tosti was taking a drop after his approach went into a creek left of the green.
On the 12th hole, cameras caught Tosti walking well behind the final group, with Bones reporting “I don’t know what’s going on, but Tosti is playing at his own pace. At times, it’s normal. At times, it’s glacially slow.
"He's decided on this particular hole to really take his time, and he’s holding up play in this last group.”
Lee wasn't asked about Tosti in his winner's news conference, and Tosti wasn't interviewed after the final round. But he responded via social media on Monday, his first post on X since late August, and defended the backlash against him.
"Bones talking sh*t for the fans. Saying l am walking 50 yards behind and “trying to slow playing my partner”. The part you don’t see is that l used the restroom and prepared myself a drink," Tosti said on social media.

To clarify, Tosti is not known as a slow player on the PGA Tour. The final round, playing in threesomes, finished in about five hours and inside the TV window, which went off air shortly after 6 p.m. ET.
