Alco girls tennis beats Hedgesville, boys split

CUMBERLAND — The Allegany girls defeated Hedgesville 4-1 while the boys split 2-2 in Friday's tennis match at Allegany College.

In boys singles, Alco's Eoin Mowbray defeated Noah Rosario 8-2 while Hedgesville's Hazen Dieterich won over Rishabh Patel 8-5.

In doubles, Calen Dunham and Alex Joe from the Eagles defeated Traeh Grassi and Colten Gary 8-5.

Jett Loar and Finn Gallagher from the Campers swept David Parsons and Kevin Tang 8-0.

The third doubles match between Alco's Nick Wilt and Lawson Rando (A) and Hedgesville's Peyton Edwards and Jaxiel Riveria was not completed due to rain.

In girls singles, Allegany's Chloe DeBlock defeated Karlie Marko 8-2 while Hedgesville's Alexa Smith beat Dunia Abdo 8-4.

The Campers swept both doubles matches as Danica Knight and Maya Hare defeated Kinleigh Moser and Olivia DeJules while Anna Hilderbrand and Delaney Meadors won over Camryn Church and Cami Lewis.

The third doubles match went to Alco by forfeit.

Both Allegany teams head to Keyser on Monday at 4 p.m.
