Aggie fans and media react to Texas A&M's dominant series win over No. 1 Tennessee

Texas A&M (16-15, 3-9 SEC) shocked the college baseball world on Saturday after winning its first SEC series of the year on the road vs. No. 1 Tennessee just a day after being shut out and held hitless on Friday night. Due to incoming inclement weather, both teams faced a doubleheader on Saturday to avoid any delays heading into the week.

Again, it's important to note that the Aggies were held hitless in one of the team's worst performances of the year, which is saying a lot given their immense struggles this season. However, something clicked, and the bats came alive as soon as Game 2 began, as sophomore Caden Sorrell, who returned to the team last week, hit his first home run of the weekend to tie the game at 1-1.

After taking a 2-1 lead, Tennessee wouldn't take another lead for the rest of the series, as catcher Bear Harrison and Jace LaViolette hit back-to-back home runs to take a 4-2 lead. Texas A&M's offense continued to roll as Sorrell recorded his second home run. At the same time, Hayden Schott, Terrence Kiel, and Wyatt Henseler provided a spark, ending with a 9-3 Game 2 victory, just their second in conference play.

You thought that was impressive? Just 45 minutes after the completion of Game 2, Texas A&M's bats were on fire, starting with Bera Harrison's 3-run homer right out of the gate. Thanks to timely hitting, Tennessee nearly got back in the game to cut the deficit to 4-2 in the 3rd, but it was all Aggies from there on. Things got out of hand in the top of the fourth, as Ben Royo, Wyatt Henseler, and Kaeden Kent had six runs off of three home runs. And the Aggies weren't finished.

Royo, Henseler, and Caden Sorrell returned for three more home runs and four RBI, hitting an incredible seven home runs for ten on the weekend. Leading 14-3 in the bottom of the seventh, A&M's hope of a run-rule died on the vine after Hunter Ensley's three-run homer, but thanks to Hayden Schott and Terrence Kiel, the Aggies scored three more runs and ended the game in the 8th with Kaeden Wilson excelling on the mound.

After defeating UIW 21-1 on Wednesday, Friday's shutout loss might have been a random occurrence. Scoring 26 runs in eight hours isn't just impressive but could be a sign that Texas A&M's offense might have finally woken up. However, time will tell.

After the exciting doubleheader dominance, here are the best reactions from Aggie fans and media members on X.
