A Sixers fan's guide to watching Florida vs. Houston title game

The Philadelphia 76ers will take on the Miami Heat on Monday night as they continue to play out the string. While there will be a few die-hards keeping their eyes on the Sixers, most will have their attention turned to the NCAA men's national title game in San Antonio when Florida takes on Houston.

This title game won't feature any players the Sixers would take with their first-round pick--if they keep it--as the only way they keep their pick is if it lands in the top 6. If it lands outside the top 6, the pick conveys to the Oklahoma City Thunder as part of the Al Horford deal in 2020.

However, there are some players to keep an eye on. There is a possibility that the Sixers could take one of these players with their second-round pick or even make a trade to move back into the middle or the later part of the first round to select one of these players.

Here is a Sixers fan's guide to watching Florida take on Houston:

How to watch

Players to watch

Florida Gators

Walter Clayton Jr. has been fantastic in this tournament averaging 24.6 points and shooting 48.7% from deep across the five games thus far. He was projected to be a second-round pick before this run int he tournament, but he has shot up draft boards recently, as he should. So he may be out of range for the Sixers, but he is certainly one player to keep an eye on.

Houston Cougars

The Cougars didn't have any players projected to be drafted before this tournament run, but one player who could be intriguing to some is LJ Cryer. He was fantastic in the upset win over Duke in the Final Four scoring 26 points with five rebounds and he shot 6-for-9 from deep. One has to wonder if he could get an NBA opportunity on a two-way deal if he were to go undrafted. The Sixers have found some gems who went undrafted recently (Justin Edwards, Ricky Council IV).
