A QB in every round for the Steelers to consider
At this point, we aren't sure what the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to do at quarterback but we know they are going to do something. Regardless of who the team signs in free agency at this point, we expect the team to select a quarterback in the 2025 NFL draft as well. Here is a quarterback option for the Steelers in each round of the draft.
First round - Jaxson Dart - Ole Miss
Realistically, there's no chance Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward fall to the Steelers and they aren't trading up for either. So if there's a first-round quarterback pick, It's going to be Dart.
Second round - Jalen Milroe - Alabama
Pittsburgh doesn't have a second-round pick but there's nothing to say they cannot trade into the round if they think Jalen Milroe is the answer. We love Milroe's ceiling and his athleticism is off the charts.
Third round - Will Howard - Ohio State
Howard's game has some flaws, mainly his deep passing but there's very little else wrong with his game including the fact he's a scary athlete for his size.
Fourth round - Brady Cook - Missouri
Other than Milroe, there's no quarterback in this draft with a higher ceiling than Brady Cook. He carried the Missouri offense with his arm and his legs and is a born leader and high IQ football player.
Fifth round - Quinn Ewers - Texas
There was a tie when Ewers was a first-round prospect but his consistency is a huge worry. If he can get back to form, he's an NFL starter but he's going to need some time to sit and learn.
Sixth round - Tyler Shough - Louisville
Shough isn't a player we are sold on as a developmental prospect but the Steelers seem interested in him and he has some nice physical tools.
Seventh round - Kurtis Rourke - Indiana
Rourke isn't a starting-caliber quarterback but he's smart and experienced and could be a long-term backup and spot starter.
