Watch live: White House holds briefing amid Trump battle with courts, Ukraine talks

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is holding a press briefing Wednesday afternoon following an intense back-and-forth between President Trump and a federal judge over Venezuelan migrant flights and his recent talks with the presidents of Russian and Ukraine.
Trump slammed U.S. District Judge James Boasberg after he moved to block the president from using the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to remove migrants allegedly linked to the Tren de Aragua gang via flights to El Salvador. The judge ordered the administration to turn the flights around, but the administration argued the planes were already outside of U.S. territory.
Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts also issued a rare rebuke Tuesday after Trump called for Boasberg to be impeached over the issue.
The briefing follows the president's call early Wednesday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as U.S. leaders seek to negotiate a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine's three-year-war with Russia. Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin a day earlier, though he stopped short of endorsing a full truce.
It also comes ahead of Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's latest decision on interest rates. Despite Trump's consistent push for more cuts, uncertainty around the economy is likely to keep rates where they are.
The press briefing is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. EDT.
